"On the 11th anniversary of the liberation of south Lebanon, Hezbollah Secretary General Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah slammed US President Barack Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu saying that they have pronounced in their speeches the demise of the Arab initiative for the so-called Mideast Accord.

Nasrallah once again said that armed resistance and not negotiations was the only means to deal with Israel. He also said Netanyhau's talk of Hezbollah's rockets serves as further proof that the resistance group is part of the regional calculations.

Hezbollah has tens of thousands of rockets, which can hit any Israeli target. They are believed to be the most strategic weapon of choice for deterrence.

Analysts say Hezbollah has gained more leverage for its cause as a resistance movement especially after the speeches of the US President and Israeli Prime Minister.

Many Arab supporters, who came to the event and had participated in the regional uprisings, said they could now relate to the victories of Hezbollah in the 2000 and 2006 wars.

Sayyed Nasrallah said the Israeli withdrawal from Lebanon's territories on May 25, 2000 changed the regional equations for good. But more importantly, it also put an end to the invincibility myth of the Israeli army.

Liberation day has become not only as a national holiday but a day of self assessment in light of the changes in the region. The words of Sayyed nasrallah show that Hezbollah's resistance has evolved into a force which challenges not only the Israeli occupation but also the will and policy of Israel's strongest ally, the US.
