"An aid convoy from Britain called Miles of Smiles “4” has arrived in Gaza on Sunday via the Rafah border crosing. Bringing with them symbolic amounts of badly needed medicines, the activists expressed their happiness for being in Gaza to break the ongoing Israeli siege. The humanitarian aid convoy consisting of 8 vehicles including 2 ambulances
The visiting delegation was received by a number of officials from the government who thanked them for taking the effort and for overcoming all obstacles during their way.
Miles of Smiles aid convoy “4” has made it to Gaza, the convoy members will engage with the youth of Gaza through sport.
The 35 activists most of them youngmen said they came to show solidarity with the people of Gaza who have been under Israeli land and sea blockade for over 5 years.
The young men were hoping to use their own bicycles which they brought with them to cycle all the way from Cairo to Gaza, but for some reason they were not allowed to do so by Egyptian authorities. As they were ready to make their way to Gaza city, 10's of Gazan youth received the joyful solidarity activists and offered them their bicycles.
During their 3-day stay set by Egyptian authorities, the activists will tour some areas, met officials from the government as well as civil society organizations.
