"Highlighting how the reality of Palestine under occupation is a concern of the global community, delegates at the biennial meeting of the International Union of NGO's Supporting Palestinian Rights noted that an injustice somewhere is justice nowhere.
The head of the union, Dr Zahra Mostafavi Khomeini, pointed to the advice of her father, the late founder of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Imam Khomeini, who said that Muslim oil producing nations should use this commodity as a weapon against Israel and other colonial powers.
Instead, it was pointed out a number of Arab states today serve the Zionist regime. For example, the fact that despite all of Bahrain's ambassadors being members of the royal family, its envoy to America is a Zionist.
With many governments opting to support Israel, Palestinian exiles, such as Dr Rania Madi say it is up to individuals to make Israel feel the impact.
But the establishment of what participants here described as a cancer in the midst of the Muslim world, ultimately has its roots in a completely unrelated notion - one for which Palestinians today are paying the price.
Participants here are under no illusion that conferences like this could bring and end to the Israeli occupation of Palestinian territory, What they have done though is presented arguments for what people - not only in Palestine - but across the world can take to ensure that Palestine is liberated.
