"Crowds gathered at the courtyard of the Palestinian legislative council in Gaza city to pay tribute to those who were killed by Israeli forces on May 15, while taking part in mass demonstration to mark the Nakba Day.

The participants said the blood that was spilled will not go in vain.

A children rally was also organized in Nusirat refugee camp in central Gaza to pay tribute to those who lost their lives on the Nakba Day. They marched in the alleyways of the camp carrying Palestinian flags and carrying the door key which has become a powerful symbol of refugees' right to return. They also chanted slogans stressing the right of return to the land from where their grandparents were driven out.

Human rights groups said that the use of excessive force by Israeli forces against unarmed peaceful demonstrators was horrifying and reiterated the condemnation of such crimes. They also called for intervention of international community to put pressure on Israel to stop its violation of human rights on occupied Palestinian lands.
