"Israeli deputy foreign minister Danny Ayalon threatened that the Palestinian Authority's move to the United Nations would end and destruct what he called the peace process and Israel will dissolve all agreements signed with the Palestinians.

Ayalon later stated that he hoped the Palestinians would back away from the U.N. plan, warning that a vote could lead to 'disappointment and maybe violence' in the Palestinian territories.

But Palestinians are adamant to go ahead with their plan.
The Palestinian Authority insists that they will not go back to direct negotiations until Israel stops the constructing new settlement units in the West Bank, including Jerusalem/al Quds, while the United States and Israel argue that negotiations are the only way to achieve peace and establish a Palestinian state.

PLO Chairman and President of the Palestinian National Authority Mahmoud Abbas stated he is awaiting an official response from Washington concerning whether the US will use the veto in the Security Council, and that the Palestinian goal is to seek recognition from the Security Council, and if that fails, to go to the General Assemble.

Other than ther Palestinians in general and the PA in particular, Ayalon and other Senior Israeli officials are lobbying to prevent a pro-Palestinian resolution from passing at the UNGA
