"Four Palestinians who were recently released from Israeli jails are back in Gaza. The men who were imprisoned for their political activities and affiliation described the prison condition as harsh and treatment of Israeli guards as inhumane.

Muniar another one of the four talked about the tough prison conditions and how the Israelis denied the inmates their basic rights such as medical care and family visits.

The Palestinian ministry of prisoners and detainees in Gaza said there are currently 450 children among about 8000 Palestinian prisoners and detainees held in Israeli jails. There are also 36 women, 125 inmates who have served more than 25 years in prison and 1500 who need urgent medical attention.

In late December 2010 a human rights group called Public Committee Against Torture in Israel revealed in a report that Palestinian detainees are systematically denied the right to meet a lawyer during interrogations.

Being shackled to chairs for long periods, sleep deprivation , threats , torture and abysmal detention conditions are some of the cases the rights group has described prisoners as saying.

Israel says its army is one of the most moral armies in the world and treats prisoners and detainees with honor. But in recent years some videos have come out, showing how Israeli soldiers treat blindfolded and handcuffed Palestinians detainees.

The families of Gazan prisoners held in Israeli jails have not been able to visit their loved ones since September of 2007 after Israel decaled Gaza a hostile entity, following Hamas' takeover of Gaza in June of the same year.
