Phyllis Bennis, senior analyst with the Institute for Policy Studies in Washington D.C., presents the Fourth Annual James Graff Memorial Lecture for The Near East Cultural and Educational Foundation (NECF) in Toronto.

A longtime analyst of the Mideast and U.S. foreign policy, Bennis addresses the current political landscape including the new face of the US presence in Iraq, the reality of the Israeli-Palestinian peace talks, and Israel's attack of the Gaza flotilla.

Bennis is an author, policy analyst and activist specializing in the area of U.S. foreign policy and the United Nations. She is a fellow of the Transnational Institute in Amsterdam, and a senior analyst with the Institute for Policy Studies in Washington, D.C., where she directs their New Internationalism Project. Bennis helped found the U.S. Campaign to End the Israeli Occupation and she works closely with the anti-war coalition United for Peace and Justice. She is author of Ending the US War in Afghanistan: A Primer; Before and After: U.S. Foreign Policy and the September 11th Crisis; Understanding the Palestinian-Israeli Conflict: A Primer; and others. She is also a popular consultant in international media including Al Jazeera English.
