"In the light of the unprecedented level of poverty and unemployment in Gaza, a charitable origination called “Co-operation Without Borders Association” has started Gaza's first Hospice or what is known as “TeKeyyah”.

Under the ongoing 4-year Israeli siege, charitable organizations like this one provide fresh hot meals to the needy people.

Poor families including the disabled and sick people benefit from this humanitarian project which is financed by some locals in the community.

The director of this newly inaugurated charity said that such humanitarian projects help conquer poverty and boost the principles of social solidarity.

Statistics by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine refugees “UNRWA” show that more than 80% of Gaza's households rely on food assistance and remain food insecure. The abject poverty caused by the ongoing land & sea blockade has forced impoverished people to become aid dependent.

Both organizers and beneficiaries hope that this project would be sustainable to serve the maximum number of people in need, especially during the holy month of Ramadan, which will begin at the start of August
