"According to the document obtained by the Israeli daily Haaretz, between 1967 and 1994, Tel Aviv followed a covert procedure to annul the residency status of 140,000 West Bank Palestinians.

Palestinians who found themselves 'no longer residents' include students who graduated from foreign universities, businessmen and laborers who left to work abroad.

In an immediate response to the report, Palestinian Authority official Saeb Erekat, said Israel's policy constitutes a war crime and amounts to an attempt to affect the demographic composition of the West Bank.

One Palestinian resident of East Jerusalem Al Quds, who finds himself a victim of this covert policy had this to say:

Meanwhile on Wednesday, an Israeli court in Jerusalem al-Quds has informed 88 Palestinian families of plans to demolish their homes to make way for a biblical park.

Human Rights Activists, gathered outside the central court, expressed their support for the Palestinians and condemned Israel's policies.

International law experts have long viewed the policy of house demolitions and expulsions as the defining aspect of Israel's policy towards Palestinians since its creation on their land in 1948.

International institutions have had little influence on Israel's policy so far, and the question remains when will Israel begin to obey international conventions and stop violating Palestinian rights
