Street in Al-Thuri sealed off as clashes continue

Silwan, Jerusalem (SILWANIC) -- Israeli forces closed off Ben Naomi Street in Al-Thruri district following the spread of clashes throughout southern Silwan. The village is still witnessing violent confrontations between citizens and Israeli forces, who are firing rubber bullets, sound grenades and tear gas at Palestinian residents.

Silwan, Jerusalem (SILWANIC) -- Silwanic photographer Ahmad Siyam suffered a shoulder injury during clashes in Silwan today. Siyam was transferred to Al-Maqased hospital in Jerusalem. No further details of his injury are available yet.

Silwan, Jerusalem (SILWANIC) -- Eyewitnesses report that the water truck used by Israeli forces to pump powerful jets of water at Palestinians is currently positioned in Ein Silwan Street. The street lies close to the City of David settlement project near the southern edge of Wadi Hilweh, a common flashpoint for violence during clashes in the village.

شهدت أحياء بلدة سلوان وحي الثوري جنوب المسجد الاقصى المبارك، اليوم، مواجهات هي الأعنف من نوعها بين قوات الاحتلال والشبان المقدسيين، بعد محاولة فاشلة للقوات المستعربة لاعتقال بعض الشبان عقب انتهاء صلاة الجمعة في خيمة الإعتصام حيث استخدم الجنود قنابل الغاز المسيل للدموع بشكل عشوائي بين منازل المواطنين والرصاص المطاطي، ورش المياه الساخنة والملونة التى توغلت أزقة المنازل وسط حي البستان، ورد الشبان على ذلك برمي الحجارة وأصيب العشرات من المواطنين 'أطفال وشبان ونساء' داخل المنازل وخارجها إلى حالات اختناق جراء إطلاق الغاز، كما أصيب جنود الحالات بإصابات طفيفة جراء إطلاق الحجارة نحوهم كما اصيب الصحفي المصور محمود عليان والمصور أحمد صيام خلال المواجهات ونقل الأخير الى مستشفى المقاصد .

وذكرت مراسلتنا في القدس، انه للمرة الثالثة فشل المستعربين باعتقال شبان الحي، كما حاول جنود الاحتلال التنكيل بعدد من الصحفيين المقدسيين وإبعادهم عن بؤرة الحدث، وإصابة آخرين بإصابات طفيفة جراء رشق الحجارة.

وقالت ، أن المواجهات في أحياء بلدة سلوان امتدت إلى حي الثوري، وأطلق قنابل الغاز وملاحقة الشبان دون وقوع إصابات واعتقال

Today, the streets of Silwan, south of Al Aqsa Mosque, saw heavy confrontations between the Israeli occupation forces and the Palestinian youth of Jerusalem, following a failed attempt by occupation forces in plain clothes to arrest some of the youths after Friday prayers in protest tent. Israeli soldiers shot tear gas canisters at random between the houses of citizens and rubber coated steel bullets, sprayed hot and color water on protesters in the alleys of the Bustan neighborhood. Youths retaliated by throwing stones and using slingshots. Dozens of citizens, children youth, men and women suffered asphyxia from teargas inhalation in their home and outside. Journalists Mahmoud Alian photographer and cameraman Ahmed Siam were also injured during the confrontations and the latter was transfer to al Maqased Hospital hospital purposes.
