"The International conference on the Rights of Palestinian prisoners and detainees has met for the first time, in Geneva.

A coalition of human rights organisations and European MP's have been hearing testimony from Palestinians who have spent time in Israeli prisons.

The UN is following the well-being of some 200 minors and 200 other Palestinian civilians held in Israel without trial. 'Administrative detention' has seen more than 3/4 of a million Palestinians imprisoned since 1967.

Israel says administrative detention is carried out for pre-emptive purposes in the framework of the ongoing war against terrorism.

Several Palestinian leaders and politicians held in Israeli jails, including 47 Hamas members of the ongoing war against terrorism.
The British politicians attending the conference on the rights of Palestinian prisoners are unanimous in their condemnation of Israeli human rights abuses.
