"The Sauo family is one of many Palestinian families soon to be evicted from their homes after Israel approved the construction of more settlements in the Palestinian neighborhood of Sheik Jarrah, in East Jerusalem, al-Quds.

The Sauo family received their eviction without any warning.

The plans include two buildings, containing 13 settlement units. The move sparked anger among Palestinians, drawing immediate condemnation.

The Israeli municipality will raze two Palestinian buildings in the western part of the neighborhood.

The East Jerusalem, al-Quds neighborhood of Sheikh Jarrah has become a focal point of conflict.

Palestinians say, Behind the construction plans are settler organizations who have occupied homes in the Palestinian Sheik Jarrah neighborhood. The companies backing the project are registered in the United States. Analysts say these front companies are set up by right-wing activists in order to transfer funds.

However, the Sauo family has hired a team of lawyers to fight the battle of saving their home.

The construction of settlements in occupied East Jerusalem/Al-quds and the West Bank have been at the front line of the stalled talks between the Palestinian Authority and the Israelis.

Palestinians believe the PA should not return to talks with Israel unless all settlement activity in the Palestinian occupied territories comes to a complete halt.
