"mariosavio | December 18, 2010

Dozens of Palestinians, Israelis and international activists marched in the West Bank village of Al-Ma'asara, protesting against the separation wall and land theft by nearby Israeli settlements. Some demonstrators dressed up as Santa Claus for Christmas. Others waved the flags of Argentina and Brazil, honoring the two countries' decision to recognize a Palestinian state. Despite the demonstration being completely nonviolent, the Israeli army attacked the demonstrators with grenades and tear gas in the entrance to the village, and arrested one Israeli demonstrator in an attempt to quell the protest.
