Swee Ang was an orthopaedic consultant for the UN in the Gaza Strip during the first Palestinian intifada in 1988-89. She worked in Sabra and Shatilla Palestinian refugee camps in Beirut in 1982 and was a witness and survivor of the massacre that year. She is currently a surgeon at Barts and the Royal London Hospital.
