Israeli warplanes have carried out two airstrikes in central and northern Gaza strip in the early hours of Sunday. The overnight attacks left two people wounded and caused panic among the Palestinians in the targeted areas.
Hamas said the latest escalation comes amid the threats of a new offensive against Gaza, adding that the resistance factions will not remain idle.
Analysts say that Israel is mobilizing international support to get the green light to wage an offensive on Gaza under the pretext of fighting terrorism.
Earlier on Tuesday, Israeli forces killed a Palestinian man and wounded five others in gunfire attack and tank shelling of the southern Gaza Strip city of Khan Younis. Israel has repeatedly attacked Gaza since the end of its war on the densely-populated coastal strip in late 2008. The 22-day offensive left more than 1,400 Palestinians in the coastal enclave. Gaza has also been under an Israeli crippling siege since 2007.
