Meeting and March Demands End to Gaza Siege

"The Charter Oak was filled yesterday with people from CT calling for an end to the Gaza Siege and free passage in Egypt for the Gaza Freedom March. Brittany Florio told about the 1,4000 Gaza Freedom Marchers and the decision by the Mubarak regime to close the Israel Gaza border. Stanley Heller of the Middle East Crisis Committee denounced Egyptian and U.S. collaboration in the siege and questioned whether it was time to start boycotts of Egypt. Haidar abu Shaqra described the difficult conditions for Palestinians in the West Bank as well as Gaza. Nada Khader spoke of her horror of seeing a Gaza Massacre photo of a toddler who was trapped for days with the corpses of his parents about the effectiveness of barrages of calls and emails to the embassys.

Then we had a brief march of our own to the Federal Court House in Main St. chanting "Gaza, Gaza Don't you Cry, Palestine Will Never Die", "1,2,3,4 We Don't Want Your Racist War, 5, 6, 7, 8, Open Up the Rafah Gate"."
